Subject: Setting up the “maximum amount of the 2021 national health insurance beneficiary’s co-payment for hospitalization”, which shall take effect as of January 1, 2021.

Legal base:  Paragraph 2 of Article 47 of the “National Health Insurance Act”.

Announcement: The “maximum amount of the 2021 national health insurance beneficiary’s co-payment for hospitalization” is set forth as follows:

1. The maximum amount of co-payment for each time of hospitalization for a same illness: NT$41,000.
2. The maximum amount of co-payment for hospitalization accumulated in one year: NT$69,000.
3. The maximum amount of co-payment for hospitalization set forth in the preceding two paragraphs shall only apply to self-bearing medical expenses prescribed under Article 47 of the National Health Insurance Act and incurred by a beneficiary who has been hospitalized in acute care ward for not more than thirty days or in chronic ward for not more than one hundred and eighty days, excluding non-covered items precluded by the National Health Insurance Act.
