Vice President Lai Ching-Te, Minister of Health and Welfare Hsueh Jui-Yuan, and former Minister of Health and Welfare Chen Shih-Chung attended the ceremony of dental equipment donation from private companies to remote rural public health centers in Chiayi County on April 23.
To upgrade dental equipment in remote rural areas and improve healthcare quality, the National Health Insurance Administration (NHIA) has paired up five private companies with remote rural areas in need and achieved the donation of 50 dental chairs with a total value close to NT$20 million.
The NHIA endeavors to optimize healthcare quality in remote rural areas and a designated fund is used to incentivize dentists to serve in such areas to improve healthcare accessibility for local residents. The act of kindness from private sectors of donating proper dental equipment is greatly appreciated. A continual improvement of healthcare quality and equipment in remote rural areas is expected through the collaboration of public and private sectors.
