Global Budget Payment System

In order to provide efficient high-quality medical services given limited resources available from National Health Insurance, the National Health Insurance Administration has been promoting a global budget payment system for dentistry, traditional Chinese medicine, primary care, and hospitals since 1998. The comprehensive global budget payment system has been available since 2002 and has been keeping the annual growth rate for medical expenses to less than 5%.
