The National Health Insurance Administration (NHIA) has detected phishing emails impersonating the NHIA sent by unknown suspects under the subject "October 1123 NHI Premium Payment Transferred Successfully and Receipt Download (f01111r)-1127717020-18319549" (1123年10月健保費轉帳扣款成功通知及收據下載(f01111r)-1127717020-18319549) with malicious files attached. Multiple group insurance applicants have reported receiving suspicious emails. The NHIA would like to remind everyone not to open suspicious emails and instead, delete such emails immediately to avoid falling to such scams.

The NHIA said that the suspects have impersonated the NHIA multiple times, sending out numerous malicious emails disguising as official notifications to confuse the receiver. The NHIA urges everyone who receives the email with the subject "October 1123 NHI Premium Payment Transferred Successfully and Receipt Download (f01111r)-1127717020-18319549" to delete it directly. If the receiver accidentally clicked on the malicious files attached to the email, a virus or a Trojan horse may have been implanted in the computer, in which case, the computer should be examined by a professional to ensure its security.

The NHIA pointed out that all emails sent by the NHIA contain a digital signature. Group insurance applicants and the insured should verify the authenticity of an email sent by the NHIA by checking for the digital signature.

Finally, the NHIA urges everyone to be vigilant when receiving emails. For any doubts or questions, please call the NHIA on the designated consultation lines at 0800-030-598 or 4128-678 from a landline, and (02)4128-678 from a mobile phone.
