In response to World Environment Day on June 5, the National Health Insurance Administration (NHIA) continues to enhance its Multi-Credential Online Enrollment System, providing fast and convenient online services. The NHIA encourages insured units to make full use of the system and incorporate environmental concepts into their NHI-related operations. By reducing paper usage and handling enrollment and withdrawal procedures online, insured units can complete applications more easily and efficiently—taking real action to support environmental sustainability.

The NHIA stated that, in line with its commitment to energy conservation, carbon reduction, and environmental protection, it has actively promoted online services for NHI enrollment operations over the years, gaining strong support and participation from insured units. For example, in the Yunlin, Chiayi, and Tainan regions, more than 35,000 Category 1 insured units have registered to use the system. In 2024 (Year 113), 87% of all NHI-related changes were submitted online, leading to a substantial reduction in paper consumption.

The NHIA shared that, in the past, many insured units were accustomed to handling NHI-related applications using paper forms. However, following multiple rounds of outreach and promotion, company representatives began using the Multi-Credential Online Enrollment System and responded with overwhelmingly positive feedback, praising its convenience and ease of use. User satisfaction has been exceptionally high. To further improve service quality, the NHIA continues to enhance system functions by adding new features, enabling insured units to easily update company information, enroll or withdraw employees, adjust salaries, and check monthly NHI premium calculation details—all through a streamlined online process. Additionally, health insurance card replacement can now be requested online, significantly shortening processing time and reducing the need for paper, staff travel, and mailing costs.
