1.Pursuant to Article 70-1 of the Enforcement Rules of the National Health Insurance (NHI) Act, insurers are required to announce the adjustment items on a yearly basis. Considering the Bureau’s compliance responsibilities and the soundness of the NHI premium system, the Bureau of National Health Insurance hereby announces, in accordance with the procedures for the Executive Yuan Gazette and regulation announcement, that the Premium Ratable Wage Scope for National Health Insurance shall be adjusted effective from 1 October 2009.

2.Adjustments include:

(1)The ratio of salary applicable to the NHI Premium Ratable Wage Scope for civil servants or military personnel shall be adjusted from the existing 90.67% to 93.52%.
(2)The flat insurance premium for men currently fulfilling compulsory or substitute military service, or insureds from low-income families, which are fully subsidized by the government, shall be adjusted from the existing NTD1,317 to NTD1,376.
(3)The minimum premium ratable wage for the responsible persons of business entities with less than five employees, independently practicing professionals and technicians or self-employed business owners shall be adjusted from the present NTD33,000 to NTD34,800.
