In response to damages caused by Typhoon Ragasa, NHI cards lost or destroyed due to the disaster can be reissued free of charge. Applicants should mark "Typhoon Ragasa -affected residents" on the NHI card application form and apply at local post offices, household registration offices (for nationals only), designated township offices with card-issuing service, or NHIA service centers. For inquiries, please call the NHIA hotline: 0800-030-598 or 4128-678 (no area code needed for landlines), or (02) 4128-678 from mobile phones

If NHI cards are lost or damaged due to the typhoon, patients may still use chronic prescriptions to obtain medications at pharmacies, which will process them as exceptional cases. If medications or prescriptions are lost or destroyed, patients may request a new prescription from their physician; when filing claims, providers should mark "R007" so it will not be counted as duplicate medication. If the scheduled refill date falls on a typhoon-related work suspension day, patients may refill on the first working day after the typhoon, with subsequent prescriptions following their original schedules. Patients with medication-related concerns are advised to consult their physicians to ensure optimal treatment.
