The National Health Insurance Administration (NHIA) is actively promoting digital transformation services to strengthen the national healthcare safety net, supporting vulnerable groups. The NHIA’s Kaohsiung-Pingtung division office collaborated with 77 township and district offices in Kaohsiung, Pingtung, and Penghu to develop localized and digitalized services through evaluation activities. On November 7, the NHIA’s Kaohsiung-Pingtung division office recognized 18 outstanding township and district offices for their performance, with the Lujhu District Office in Kaohsiung taking the top spot for its impressive promotion of the NHI app, counters, and online reporting services. It has won the award for 11 consecutive years. The Meinong District Office in Kaohsiung and the Pingtung District Office in Pingtung County were also recognized for their exceptional outreach and support for vulnerable groups.
The NHIA stated that in recent years, it has continually improved and diversified its services. With digital transformation, it aims to realize intelligent health management, convenient application services, and support for vulnerable groups. Township and District Offices, as the agencies closest to the public, not only embody the spirit of community mutual support but are also important partners in promoting NHI services. A total of 77 Township and District Offices, serving over 650,000 people in the area, have used digital NHI services to actively report vulnerable individuals such as homeless children, people with disabilities, those with severe illnesses, and elderly individuals living alone in remote areas. They have also assisted in arranging payment installments or relief applications, with a total of 940 cases, benefiting more than 1,600 people. NHIA will continue to collaborate with these offices to promote digitalized and convenient services, strengthen local care for vulnerable groups, and ensure zero-distance access to National Health Insurance services.
