The BNHI would like to remind you that if you fail to additionally submit certificates required for reimbursement to the original medical institutions within 7 days (excluding holidays) because of the computer system failure occurring to the institutions or other factors not attributable to you. With related papers prepared, such as the reimbursement application form and the original receipt, you can submit the reimbursement application form to the original medical institutions' local BNHI regional divisions listed below within 6 months of the day you received emergency or outpatient care or was discharged from the hospital.

Factors not attributable to the insured include: natural disasters, receiving medical care outside one's living area, newborns, newly-hired foreign labors, NHI IC card damaged or lost and the newly applied card yet to be received within 7 days of receiving medical care, computer system failure occurring to the medical institutions, etc.

The BNHI once again reminds you that because reimbursement for self-advanced medical expenses made 7 days ago is conditional, please bring the NHI IC card with you when seeking medical care. In order to protect your rights, please return to the original medical institution as soon as possible within 7 days of receiving medical care to apply for reimbursement for self-advanced expenses.
