Since 2005, the NHIA has implemented improvement plan for medically underserved areas to enhance the medical accessibility. In order to make it easier for more residents to seek medical treatment, the NHIA coordinates hospital to provide mobile health care at long-term care service locations.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the superintendent of Rei-ban Tsai clinic has been working to reinforce pandemic prevention measures. The measures include wearing masks, checking body temperature before treating patients, implementing crowd control measures, being equipped with UPS (Uninterruptable Power System), offering outpatient service in outdoor areas and disinfecting facilities regularly. Doctor Tsai wears protective gears and offers home care for patients with disabilities. There was a ninety-year- old woman who sought medical attention via mobile health care. Thanks to mobile health care, the woman has received proper medical care.
According to the NHIA, to ensure the accessibility of mobile care service, physicians in primary cares have offered regular services in 92% of the health care facilities (146 facilities in total) throughout Yunlin, Chiayi and Tainan areas by July 31.
