To ensure all citizens have access to appropriate medical care, especially the people living in rural areas, the National Health Insurance Administration (NHIA) has established "National Platform for physician Demand in Rural Areas" in its official website. If doctors are willing to serve in rural areas or outlying islands, then they can search for the services needed in each of these areas via this platform. The NHIA has also taken the initiative to collect information on tourist attractions, transportation, gourmet maps, as well as recommendations for accommodations in 60 rural communities throughout Taiwan, hoping to attract enthusiastic doctors to serve in the rural areas and outlying islands. This allows doctors to experience various cultural landscapes in Taiwan, and also allows local people to have access to continuous quality medical care in their neighborhoods. Currently, 174 position vacancies in total have been released by 29 hospitals. More information can be found on "National Platform for Manpower Demand for Doctors in Rural Communities" in the Topics section of the NHIA's website [Link].
