The National Health Insurance Administration (NHIA) of the Ministry of Health and Welfare won the 2020 National Sustainable Development Award in the category of government agencies for its project titled "Building an E-healthcare Network in Taiwan through the MediCloud Network." On behalf of the administration, NHIA Director-General Po-Chang Lee received the award today presented by Premier Su Tseng-Chang at the award ceremony in the Executive Yuan. Premier Su recognizes the efforts made by the NHIA over the past years. The NHIA has been dedicated to engaging in early preparedness by establishing the “NHI MediCloud” and “My Health Bank” systems, which contributed highly in combating COVID-19, and safeguarding people’s health.
The National Sustainable Development Awards are organized by the National Sustainable Development Committee under the Executive Yuan. The purpose of the awards is to recognize those who have achieved excellent performance in promoting sustainable development and encourage the public to participate sustainable development in order to further strengthen sustainable development into local actions and everyday lives and achieve Taiwan's vision of sustainable development.
