In 2015, the NHIA introduced the Platform for Patients' Opinions Regarding New Drugs and Medical Devices (https://www.nhi.gov.tw/PatientShare/PatientShare.aspx). This platform welcomes patients' views for decision-making on whether new drugs and medical devices should be covered by the NHI. As of November 15th, 2021, 206 items once placed on the platform have been commented, with a total of 692 records (672 for new drugs and 20 for medical devices respectively). On October 1st, 2021, a function was further added to collect opinions on expanding the range of drug coverage. Patients are welcome to share their experiences and provide suggestions so that the NHI policies can meet patients' needs.
